Launched in preparation of the Accreditation Review Conference in 2008, Vision 2020 attempted to project what the future of architecture and design would be like in 2020, a year not too far in the distance yet enough time for changes in technology, society, and the environment to change practice. Illuminaries including Robert Ivy and Susan Szenazy, editors and chief of Architectural Record and Metropolis Magazine, respectively, Richard Swett, former Ambassador to Denmark and noted architect Charles Renfro of Diller, Scofidio & Renfro were among many voices ranging from students to fellows who gave their opinions of the future.
